Silatronix Announces Two New Members Joining its Technical Advisory Board

Silatronix is pleased to announce that Mr. Yoshio Nishi and Dr. Takeshi Abe have joined its Technical Advisory Board. “We are very excited to have Nishi-san and Abe-san as members of our Technical Advisory Board in Japan. Both of these gentlemen have a deep understanding of the challenges facing the lithium ion industry as the world demands higher energy density and lower cost energy storage solutions. We are pleased these highly recognized experts see the potential of Silatronix’s advanced functional solvents as a way for the lithium ion industry to achieve these ends,” reported Mark Zager, CEO of Silatronix.

Mr. Yoshio Nishi is a retired Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of the Sony Corporation. Mr. Nishi led the development team at Sony that successfully launched the first commercial lithium ion battery in 1991. His achievements in developing the lithium ion industry were recently recognized by the National Academy of Engineering when he was awarded the 2014 Charles Stark Draper Prize for Engineering.

Dr. Takeshi Abe is a professor at the Graduate School of Engineering at Kyoto University. Dr. Abe is a recognized expert in advanced lithium ion batteries and electrochemistry, with over 150 peer-reviewed papers and several books to his credit. He is the recipient of numerous awards recognizing his contribution to the technical understanding of advanced rechargeable batteries.
